Kenner Electrics recently helped bring a customer's design vision to life in Glen Waverley by installing a show-stopping chandelier in their stairwell. The client had sourced a beautiful — and very heavy — chandelier with around 200 individual parts, and needed an experienced team to assemble and install it safely and securely. It was a job that called for a clever approach and solid teamwork.

Before getting started, our team chatted through the install procedure to make sure every detail was covered. We then got to work carefully assembling the chandelier on site, ensuring all parts were fitted correctly and safely. We used a strong chain and cable system to lift the chandelier into position through the ceiling cavity. This approach avoided the need for scaffolding and allowed us to secure the fitting safely from above.

We also wrapped extra chain and cable into the roof space so the chandelier can be lowered in the future if needed — whether for cleaning, bulb changes or maintenance. A few trips to the supplier were needed to grab the right gear, but the result was worth the effort!
As this was a heavy fitting in a stairwell void, we took extra steps to ensure it could be supported long-term. That included securing the fitting to additional ceiling timbers and fixing it in place using roofing screws, so the chandelier would remain safely suspended over the stairwell.

The completed chandelier was tested, commissioned and left shining brightly in its new home — creating a beautiful centrepiece that lights up the stairwell and adds a luxurious feel to the home. We also cleaned up thoroughly after the install, leaving the space just as tidy as we found it.
