To bring the switchboard up to standard, we installed a new surface-mounted enclosure fitted with six RCBOs (safety switches) and a 63A main switch. These safety switches are designed to detect earth leakage faults and cut power instantly—something the old fuses couldn’t do. In some cases, RCDs may trip straight away after installation if they detect existing faults in the wiring or connected appliances. This isn’t uncommon and is a sign the new system is doing its job. Our electricians take the time to explain how these devices work and will investigate any tripping to ensure the installation remains both safe and functional.
As always, we conducted full testing and arranged a compulsory inspection by an independent electrical inspector. We also issued a Certificate of Electrical Safety to confirm the work was done in line with current regulations.
