We also arranged for a licensed asbestos contractor to safely remove the old meter panel materials before work began.
Safe, Modern Switchboard and Fuse Box Installation
New overhead cabling, labelled safety switches and future-ready design
On upgrade day, we arrived early and coordinated all the moving parts — including the distributor, asbestos removal team and the electrical inspector. We upgraded the consumer mains to 16mm TPS cabling, installed a new 63A main switch, and fitted a compliant overhead main fuse box (FOLCB) with a raiser bracket. The old meter panel was replaced with a durable polymer enclosure, and a new 17-module switchboard was installed with clearly labelled safety switches.
For better protection and control, we added a 50A main switch for general lighting and power, along with a separate 20A main switch for the hot water boost. After thorough testing and commissioning, the upgrade was signed off by a licensed electrical inspector, confirming the system met all Victorian safety standards.
